STANDBY POWER
Power Depend offers a wide range of electric power
generation units combining diesel
and gasoline engines from major motor manufacturers
with brand name generators into a made to measure
economical stand-by power solution. Our
sales and application engineers are well acquainted
with the wire & cable industry's special
needs. They will work closely with you to ensure
accurate load sizing and proper installation
of the equipment. Power Depends focus on the
wire & cable industry enables us to provide
an affordable solution of standby power.
PRIME/CONTINUOUS POWER
We also offer generator sets for prime or continuous
power applications suitable where the present
transmission lines do not allow an additional
increase in load or voltage is so
unstable that operation of production equipment
are impaired. Generating
your own power can also be justified in areas
where the cost of electric energy is such that
local power generation offers an economical
alternative. In these cases it is often advantageous
to sell power back to the local utility.
PEAK SHAVING
Peak shaving is an application where a Power Depend
unit can provide considerable savings on your
utility bill. Many customers are looking for
ways of controlling costs by generating their
own power during peak utility usage periods.
Power Depend can provide on-site generator
sets to provide this power and significantly
lower utility demand, as well as overall expenditures.
Along with peak-shaving, this also offers the
security of on-site standby power when needed.
LOAD MANAGEMENT
Standby power systems involved in utility-sponsored
load control arrangements can provide an attractive
return on investment. You run the equipment
during times of peak utility power demand,
when directed by the utility in return for
demand-charge credits or special power rates
granted by the utility. Contact us for more
information on load management solutions.
COGENERATION
If you have 24-hour electric demand and/or a substantial
heat requirement, such as a pickling house,
combined heat and power (cogeneration) may
work for you.
Consider that up to 60% of the cooling water and
exhaust heat losses from a diesel engine can
be recovered. A Power Depend consultant can
review and advise you if cogeneration is an
economical feasible solution for your plant.
